SUMMARY

Kevin is a highly successful innovator and has implemented problem solving methods, in particular, statistical methods to reduce costs and improve and optimise performance of products in wide ranging applications.

His clients number over a hundred major industrial companies and include:- BTR plc; Rolls Royce; Gillette; Boots Chemical Company; Rover / Ford/ and Jaguar Car Companies.

WORK HISTORY

Managing Director Experimental Design Ltd.

August 1999 to date

Established own company to develop and promote the use of statistical methods within industry.
Offers training and consultancy in:
Problem Solving methods
Analysis of complex problems
Design of Experiments
Statistical Process Control
Regression Analysis and Simulation Methods.

Manager BTR Technology Services

May 1994 to July 1999

Re-organised BTR Technology Services into three product groups centred around:- Factorial Experiment Design, Artificial Intelligence and Computer-Aided Factory Simulation.
Established the administrative procedures to support the product groups, and, with the IT Systems Manager, developed and implemented disaster recovery protocols.
Responsible for strategic planning of the businesses. Staff complement of 6 graduates and non-graduates.

Manager New Product Development BTR Technology Services

May 1993-May 1994

Responsible to Director of BTR Technology Services and a member of main BTR board.
Undertook development project looking for new and emergent technologies.
Identified Artificial Intelligence and Factory Simulation as two new product areas for BTR Technology Services.
Established software sources, training materials and consultancy skills for the new products.
Educated and trained required staff and produced project plan for successful implementation within BTR. plc.

Manager Operational Techniques Group BTR Technology Services

1987- May 1993

Identified and established business that employed software, training and consultancy in Factorial Experiment Design.
Developed and produced the technical background for the product.
Re-trained staff for new positions in this changed role for BTR Central Laboratories.
Set up and led the Operational Techniques Group.
Team trained 1000 technical personnel in the use of Factorial Experiment Design for problem solving, process improvement and new product design.
Group performed thousands of projects, resulting in savings of many millions of pounds sterling.

Technical Manager BTR Central Laboratories

1978-1987

Supervised a team of graduates working on a wide range of development and problem-solving projects using sophisticated analytical instrumentation, statistically designed experiments and computer-aided analysis of data.
Responsible for project co-ordination and training and counselling of technical staff
Liaised with managing directors, technical directors, and outside consultants world-wide.

Technical Officer British Industrial Plastics

1976-1978

Supervised one non-graduate technician in the New Products Laboratory.
Used statistical analysis methods in the development of new products.
